Kevin the koala carried a cart of cookies. He could cook the crunchiest cookies in the kingdom.
"Kevin!" called Kim the kangaroo. "Can I go with you to the kitchen?"
Kevin kicked a rock and smiled. "Of course! We can go cook together!"
Kim jumped into Kevin's cart. It creaked under her weight!
"Sorry!" Kim said. "I keep forgetting how big I am!"
Kevin laughed. "It's okay. The cart is made of oak. It can carry us both."
They went down the curvy path to Kevin's kitchen. Along the way, they met Carl the crocodile.
"Where are you two going?" asked Carl.
"We're going to make cookies!" Kevin said.
Carl clapped his scaly hands. "Can I come too? I can crack eggs really well!"
So Kevin, Kim, and Carl kept going down the path. The cart was getting crowded!
When they got to Kevin's kitchen, they took out buckets of sugar and cans of milk.
"Let's make chocolate chip cookies!" Kevin said.
Kim mixed the cake batter while Carl cracked eggs. Kevin kept count of the cups of sugar.
But when Carl tried to carry the cookie tray, he knocked over the milk! It spilled everywhere!
"Oh no!" cried Kim. "The kitchen is soaked!"
Just then, Katie the chicken came by. She looked at the mess and had a good idea.
"Why don't we go have a picnic instead?" she asked. "I picked blackberries this morning!"
So Kevin, Kim, Carl, and Katie packed a basket and went to the park. They had blackberries instead of cookies!
"Sometimes going with the flow is better than cookies!" Kevin said with a smile.
